At Northwestern Mutual, our recruiting teams focus on hiring for our home offices in Milwaukee and New York. Reporting to the Senior Director of TA, the Assistant Director of Technology Recruiting will lead our software engineering recruiting efforts and will own key leadership searches for technology executives. We’re looking for someone who acts and thinks like a business partner and is comfortable balancing demanding clients. You are the master of the employment market, knowing when to pull the right resources at the right time and ensuring that each candidate has an outstanding experience engaging with us. This is a player-coach role where you will direct a team of recruiters, participate in driving process improvement, and develop strategies to build diverse teams!
What you will do:
- Oversee recruitment strategies for all software engineering roles.
- Own leadership and executive searches across our Technology and Client Experience organizations.
- Build and cultivate positive relationships with various functional teams, hiring managers, and senior leadership.
- Drive weekly update sessions with hiring leaders to communicate process status and ensure alignment on overall recruiting strategy and execution.
- Apply, measure, and consistently improve metrics on monthly/quarterly individual hiring objectives.
- Collaborate with fellow talent team members and hiring managers to continually improve our interview process.
- Help team members with complicated offers; provide solutions to overcome roadblocks, and resolve issues
What you bring to the table:
- 10+ years recruiting experience, preferably for a technology company
- University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to use data to drive insights and include decision making
- Excellent communicator, able to apply tact and diplomacy in all situations
- Outstanding focus on quality vs. quantity, as well as a passion for adding a diverse talent base to the company
- Experience in a fast-paced, transparent work environment and comfortable accepting and giving constructive feedback
- Able to mentor and encourage team members
- Strategic problem solver with outstanding data analysis and analytical skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
