Vice President, Digital Field Experience

What's the role?

As the Vice President, Digital Field Experience, you will report to the Vice President, Head of Field Experience Alignment, and lead a small team that works horizontally across the enterprise to set clear business direction for the desired end-to-end technology experience for the field. You will build and drive a field technology roadmap, prioritize deliverables, and secure resources in partnership with business leaders, Design, Digital Product and Engineering to continuous mature the field experience. Your proven leadership, data-driven approach and empathy for end users to inform decision-making and empower the enterprise with knowledge will drive the intended field technology experience for our sales force.

Outcomes driven by this role:

  • Defines the human+digital field technology experience needed to drive the company’s strategic priorities and differentiate Northwestern Mutual advisors from others in the industry.

  • Leads discussions with senior leaders to influence and align key enterprise initiatives and innovation to achieve field technology experience goals. Achieves forward-thinking results while fixing current pain points.

  • Uses data, market intel, company priorities, field feedback and field best practices to prioritize capabilities and translate them into an impactful roadmap that matures the field technology experience.

  • Measures progress and impact of technology on field productivity and company results.

  • Directs competitive intelligence and analyzes technology, market and industry trends that will impact the business and organization.

  • Directs and influences research, design and management of experimentation in the field.

Bring your best! What this role needs:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus

  • 10+ years of growing business experience leading large, enterprise-wide technology portfolios in the financial services industry or related distribution model.

  • Proven track record of influencing a matrixed organization to set and drive a vision into enterprise planning.

  • Proven experience in leading a high performing team by creating a continuous learning environment that retains, develops and attracts top talent.

  • Superior communication skills and ability to inspire others with clarity, precision, and credibility.

  • Highly collaborative leader that builds strong relationships and can effectively get work done through others.


This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
