What you will do:

This role is key to positively redefining the enroll experience for our clients, the field, and our underwriters. Serves as the Home Office point of contact to the field. Responsible for obtaining underwriting requirements, providing personalized support, and expert mentorship to the field and our vendors. Sets expectations, problem solves, and expedites the receipt of requirements needed to evaluate risk. Serves the field and underwriters by prepping the case for policy review and approval helping to ensure the financial security of our clients.

How you will do it:

  • Evaluate insurance applications and related documents for completeness and serves as point of contact for the Field
  • Complete non-risk assessment duties prior to underwriter for assessment according to an established process; may assess outstanding requirements and documents
  • Owns the communication with Financial Advisors to obtain missing information; expedite requests for additional information as needed
  • Approves ratings up to authorized level signature limits (up to $3 million signature limit, applicable based upon experience)
  • Exchanges clear and distinct information, asks questions and checks for understanding with internal and external customers
  • Solves problems in straightforward manner; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents
  • Prioritizes and organizes work independently
  • Applies critical thinking skills to consistently and correctly apply the guidelines, using all resources available
  • Processes requested or vital administrative changes on pending applications
  • Directly communicates with a wide variety of third-party vendors for status and ability to express and/or negotiate outcomes
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with Financial Advisors and Home Office staff to develop information essential to risk assessment and assist in the placement of policies
  • Provides customer-focused service to internal and external customers through written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
  • Provides superior service and follow-up on questions regarding field, vendor or divisional delays, quality issues, and other unusual situations; resolution of these through ability to use past experiences, think differently, and providing feedback.
  • Leads explanations of difficult situations on outcomes of policies and that ability to build consensus with internal and external customers that the correct decision was met; keeps a positive mind set and tone when delivering adverse information.

  • A bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to make independent decisions and apply sound judgement in the application of rules.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information, exercise tact, diplomacy and resourcefulness.
  • Proficient in computer skills and using various software packages.
  • Ability to work accurately while maintaining speed and flexibility in a team and independent production environment.
  • A high level of organization and the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adjust in a constantly evolving work environment.
