Summary:
Supports the Future of Underwriting vision with primary responsibilities in the execution of rules within the Underwrite Me rules engine.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
-
Contributes to the development and ongoing maintenance of an automated and auto-assisted decisioning (rules) program. Collaborates with subject matter experts from medical and lay team to build rules and risk assessment capabilities.

Performs quality testing and validation testing within the rules editor and on the outputs from the ruleset

Executes root causes analysis for mapping refinement and rule flow issues
-
Incorporates digital health data (DHD) in risk selection rules and processes, including data sources such as pharmacy data, medical billing data, clinical lab results and electronic medical records.

Independently delivers analytics and insights from underwriting rule set.

Innovates with digital product and engineering for elegant event-based orchestration solutions
-
Supports project work for Future of Underwriting vision enablement and implementation.

Supports underwriter skillset and project opportunities in Quality Assurance and Learning and Development
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, actuarial science, finance, accounting, business or other related field
-
5-7 years of experience in progressively responsible roles in data analysis, innovation, underwriting, or claims
-
Superior analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems and clearly communicate results to many different audiences
-
Proven ability to anticipate business issues and to deliver results according to strategic priorities
-
Demonstrated ability to successfully balance multiple efforts of varying duration and complexity
-
Proven ability to form connections with individuals across and outside of the organization and to deliver results through others
-
History of innovative thinking with demonstrated results in moving from ideation to decision on implementation

Fellow, Academy of Life Underwriting or other industry credentials
