Job Title: Test Engineer

Job Description: The Test Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in New York, NY will contribute to designing test plans and testing in ongoing sprints. Contribute in an agile team by driving user story analysis and feature grooming, designing and developing thorough test-cases and test scenarios. Maintain the current Test Repository and work closely with automation team. Develop and maintain regression testing plans. Participate in full test development life cycle including requirements analysis and design. Identify and troubleshoot bugs through manual exploratory testing. Write quality bug reports and overview the bug life cycle. Work with developers to provide additional research and debugging of issues when more information is needed to resolve problems. Participate in discussions with Product and Development, acting as a vocal advocate for quality. Design and implement automation strategies for Mobile applications and backend-services. Automate tests for mobile applications and backend-services using JavaScript, Java, Python language, Node.js, webdriver.io, Mocha, Chai, Cucumber, GitLabs, Appium, Android Studio, XCode, npm, brew, Postman, and Allure.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related field plus one year of software development experience. Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related field plus three years of progressive software development experience.  Experience must include one year of experience in each of the following: (1) Mobile application testing for iOS and Android environment in an agile environment; (2) element locator strategies and experience writing custom XPath, CSS-Path; (3) designing and implementing automation strategies for Mobile applications and backend-services; (4) automating tests for mobile applications and backend-services using JavaScript, Java, Python language and the following tools: Node.js, webdriver.io, Mocha, Chai, Cucumber, GitLabs, Appium, Android Studio, XCode, npm, brew, Postman, Allure; (5) QA effort for applications and projects, certifying and signing off code releases for manual and automation testing; (6) analyzing business needs and develop Test plans and test cases in X-ray; and (8) Git and Jira.
