The Strategic Partnerships Relationship Manager will play a key role in supporting the growth of client-facing strategic partnerships at Northwestern Mutual!

Acts as a point of contact for assigned third-party strategic partners and enterprise teams to align partner offerings with core initiatives to achieve strategic outcomes, including the development of partner goals, execution plans, OKRs and budgets.

Applies standard methodologies to ensure partner meets regulatory and compliance standards. Accountable for partner concerns and coordination on resolution across other functional areas as well as overall partnerships results and recommendation on contract renewal.

While operating in a team environment, the Strategic Partnerships Relationship Manager will also need the ability to work independently. Background in strategic partnerships is required; banking and Fintech experience preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with strategic partners and enterprise business areas to develop partner goals, execution plans, OKRs and budgets

  • Facilitates the creation of partner offering materials, communications and webinars across NM home office and field

  • Applies best practices to ensure partner meets regulatory and compliance standards.

  • Provides coaching to cross-functional leaders and their teams on how to use strategic partner relationships to accomplish long term objectives and cultivates future projects or opportunities.

  • Manages partner concerns and coordinates across other functional areas of the company on resolution

  • Accountable for partnership results and renewal. Ensures best practices are embraced.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Proven experience in vendor or partner management

  • Track record of professional success.

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.

  • A broad knowledge of strategic partnerships

  • Develops positive relationships with key individuals across Northwester Mutual divisions.

  • Intellectual curiosity.

  • Analytical capabilities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

  • While operating in a team environment, incumbent will also need the ability to work independently.
