Sr Software Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced engineer to help maximize technology performance and availability and drive resolution for technology issues; driving changes to ensure minimal business disruption and ensure technology modernizations address customer issues.

The role requires an agile engineering mindset, patience and persistence to solve complex problems, ability to get things done quickly but thoughtfully, and strong skills to partner with others to drive results.

What we’re looking for:

  • Quickly learn new tools and technology as needed
  • Strong sense of ownership and the drive to tackle cross-team projects
  • Effective communication skills: explain issues and solutions to both engineering and non-technical teammates
  • Team player: brings out the best in fellow engineers and plays well with all areas of NM (product, engineering, business, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Background with large enterprise projects
  • Engage other employees on day to day matters, create environment of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Clarify team and individual objectives, advocate for team, and remove obstacles and barriers that prevent the team from achieving results; Enable and equip team to deliver the highest customer experience possible, and improve the team's effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Translate strategy into results; own and drive strategic direction
  • Enforce policies, procedures and standards for support
  • Ownership of Pagerduty and ServiceNow for Client Communications
  • Oversee current processes and ensure provision of high-quality support and technology customer experience, including coordination with business stakeholders and digital product

Competencies:

  • Fast learner and self-starter.  The people you will work with are incredibly kind, talented, and extremely willing to share knowledge and a helping hand, but you have to be willing to take ownership of goals and make things happen
  •  Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision, yet actively interact with other team members in person or over the Internet (chat, videoconference, email)
  • Work collaboratively on creative solutions with product owners and developers
  • Bring new ideas and new ways of solving problems to the team
  • Passionate about learning new technologies and developing additional skills

This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
