Sr. Director - Field Rewards Modernization Priority Lead

In this role, you will act as a Priority Lead for flagship multi-year initiative to streamline and modernize entire Field Compensation and Rewards framework and ecosystem. This includes driving the strategy and overall delivery roadmap; prioritizing the work in order to optimize and where possible accelerate business and field impact; aligning the work to support and enable other strategic initiatives like Advancing Advisor Practices, Elevate Field Experience and Field Mobility; and securing resources where needed to deliver expected outcomes across all workstreams.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Accountable for the development of the field rewards modernization business strategy and roadmap, maintaining full alignment with key stakeholders both in the home office and with the field

  • Helps define overall FRM roadmap and business priorities

  • Ensures delivery on key business outcomes and commitments

  • Understands and articulates prioritization of work to deliver best outcomes and impact for the business and field

  • Synthesizes approach and maintains key stakeholders apprised of progress, risks and results throughout our Field Rewards Modernization (FRM) delivery journey

  • Responsible for anticipating and pursuing actions to address emerging business needs, optimizing results and elevating the field experience in the total rewards space

  • Accountable for managing and reporting on changes in scope, timeline and costs, and driving decision making and tradeoffs to deliver the work

  • Leads ongoing communication of overall project status to priority sponsor, key business stakeholders and Career Distribution senior leaders

  • Drives and communicates progress updates and next steps from the Epic Intake Process

  • Leads key initiatives like Program Simplification in partnership with the Field Rewards Design team

  • Leads updates at executive guiding calls and ensuring stakeholder engagement and alignment

  • Helps lead formulation of future business cases and secure funding approvals

  • Understands project costs and how they align with deliverables and outcomes

Qualifications:  

  • 10+ years of experience working in the insurance and investment services industry. Particular focus in the areas of field compensation and finances, insurance operations, sales reporting and awards preferred 
  • 5+ years of experience leading execution of highly complex multi-year strategies, preferably in the advisor compensation and rewards space or involving legacy systems modernization.
  • Bachelors degree with emphasis in business, finance or accounting or equivalent professional experience.
  • Extensive experience partnering with Product and technology teams, and aligning technical requirements with tangible business outcomes
  • Experience on the standards, policies and processes associated with risk and investment product field compensation, sales incentives and loan programs 
  • Extensive administrative experience with a high degree of people, project and process management competencies, including process transformation, automation, audit and controls
  • Demonstrated high level of organization skills and follow-through with the ability to effectively identify and independently establish priorities and meet deadlines on multiple assignments with high quality results. Strong problem solving and strategic/critical thinking skills 
  • Superior interpersonal skills to lead diverse groups of people, challenge the status quo and risk tolerance. Must demonstrate effective leadership and ability to influence others without authority
  • Demonstrated agility to work across organizational boundaries, take risks, influence, and collaborate with all levels on solutions that benefit the organization 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to deliver clear and objective messages and build rapport and cooperation across the field and organization, including members of our senior leadership team.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in developing and implementing new technology and operational processes and standards. 
  • High degree of self-motivation with leadership and initiative in sharing information, contributing towards group goals, and accepting responsibility for results. Demonstrated learning agility and outside-in perspective.
  • Pro-active and able to anticipate needs for a range of broad / complex business problems and staying ahead of them; 
  • Ability to effectively connect the dots and turn ambiguity into well defined strategies and tangible/attainable objectives and results
