Sr. Director, Advisor Practices - Advisor Desktop

This role sits in the Advisor Practices team which is responsible for ensuring Northwestern Mutual is the best place for large, wealth management practices to grow their businesses.  

Reporting to the ,   Sr. Director, Advisor Practices you   will be the business lead accountable for the end to end ownership that includes business strategy, enablement, and activation of Advisor Desktop. 

 

Accountabilities:   

  • Engage with our sophisticated advisors and represent the department as needed attend and represent the department at the senior most meetings. 

  • Work cross functionally as accountable business lead for the end to end advisor desktop strategy.  

  • Lead the program leadership team of Advisor Desktop governance model 

  • Lead the field cocreation for developing Advisor Desktop vision and experiences that form the basis of business requirements 

  • Decision maker for prioritization based on competitive intel and field feedback 

  • Analyze the industry landscape for advisor desktop that includes wealth management experiences in advisor desktop 

  • Ensure the sophisticated advisors are enabled on advisor desktop platform 

  • Lead with a point of view on future state experiences in advisor desktop 

 

Bring your best! What this role needs:   

  • Advanced degree in Business, finance or related field or an equivalent combination of education, field experience and/or progressively responsible work experience. 

  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience working closely with a financial services distribution system in a leadership capacity with ability to develop, lead, manage, and collaborate on multiple projects. 

  • Digital experience strategy and a proven ability to be a business and technology thought leader. Industry expertise of advisor desktop strongly desired.  

  • Strong leadership, vision and strategy, decision-making and team-building skills. 

  • High level of credibility with the Network Offices and field management. A proven collaborator and influencer.  

  • In depth knowledge of the distribution system, Network Office operations, Northwestern Mutual's products, marketing approaches and sales and career cycle 

  • Strong communication skills with ability to motivate a wide variety of audiences. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to establish rapport at all levels of the home office and in the field. 

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and to design cost effective solutions to address long-range distribution system needs 

  • Industry experience on advisor desktop or wealth management experiences a plus
