Who We Are:

Data Science and Analytics plays a key role in the Core Data and Analytics (CDA) organization. We leverage data to provide key insights, business intelligence and data science products that advance NM's strategic priorities!

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Data Visualization Engineer within the Data Visualization & Design Center of Excellence, you will be a part of a new team driving insights & actions through data exploration, visualization, and data story-telling. We work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business professionals to create beautiful and meaningful displays of complex information.

This resource will produce meaningful visualizations that help clarify real world business problems and design interfaces for exploring information to increase engagement. Designing interfaces for exploring information to increase customer engagement and applying analytical and business knowledge in real-world setting to solve sophisticated problems are also parts of the role.

Individual must be able to access, gather, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources while regularly interacting with clients for project updates & inquiries. Lastly, presenting findings in a professional manner to leaders in the organization and developing & refining visualization standards for the organization are keys!


  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Data Visualization, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Prefer applications with portfolio or work samples/link attached.

  • Comprehensive understanding of data visualization & information design methods.

  • Experience with modern visualization languages & libraries such as JS/D3/Vue/React.

  • Experience with business intelligence software such as Power BI and Tableau strongly preferred.

  • UX/UI experience.

  • Experience in analyzing data using R, Python.

  • Passion for design, problem solving, research, quantitative analysis, and analytical working techniques.

  • Organized with high attention to details.

  • Professional demeanor.


This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
