Job Title: Software Engineering Manager
Job Description: The Software Engineering Manager at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Franklin, Wisconsin will lead the technical design and solution delivery supporting New Issue applications through modernizing legacy applications and supporting digital transformation journey using Java, Python, Groovy, DROOLS and other modern technologies. Support agile / lean culture and self-organizing teams that develop solutions. Deliver value and develop teams and lead change. Clarify objectives and remove impediments and barriers that prevent the team from achieving results. Monitor team performance and results through quantitative and qualitative measures of value, outcome, velocity, engagement, and satisfaction. Develop and grow the team through training, mentoring, and coaching as their people leader. Recruit, hire, and on board talent ensuring the right mix of talent within team. Analyze, design, deploy, develop, and support software solutions and infrastructure implementations/upgrades.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field plus three years of software development experience. Three years of experience must include three years of experience with each of the following: (1) Analyzing, designing, developing, deploying and supporting software solutions and infrastructure implementations and upgrades; (2) delivering AWS cloud migrations; (3) Java, Core, Spring Boot; (4) IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ, Apache Kafka; (5) IBM Websphere, Weblogic, Jboss; (6) DevOps; (7) developing and leading solution delivery using agile methods; (8) Git, Kubernetes and Terraform.
