This opportunity sits within the Career Distribution team which is at the forefront of working across the home office and sales force as one team. Our mission is to achieve the sales and growth objectives the company expects, while delivering the experience the sales force needs and deserves.

You will contribute to this mission by helping to identify, design, develop, and improve shared business service offerings which are targeted at various audiences in the NM sales force. You will work as part of a close knit, collaborative, creative team. You will work to understand business needs and priorities, getting the opportunity to work with both field and home office partners. On a daily basis you will identify impacts to roles, processes, technology, business rules, and economics to recommend and implement solutions that solve complex business challenges, meet strategic objectives, and make a better experience for our sales force.

  • Bachelor's degree and five or more years of experience solving problems in business operations, complex processes, sales/distribution organizations, new products or other related industry.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adjust to changing business needs by effectively managing and prioritizing concurrent assignments.
  • Experience in a scaled agile framework development environment
  • Ability to drive work forward, both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to rise above outmoded practices and solve problems in newer, more effective ways in a cross-functional, matrixed team environment.
  • Proven ability to identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and influence without authority across all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to think analytically and creatively in abstract scenarios.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including facilitation; ability to deliver information, well-organized documentation, and presentations.
  • Knowledge of Northwestern Mutual's financial planning process, products, and/or field operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of customer experience principles, design thinking, Continuous Learning Improvement or Lean Concepts and tools preferred.
