Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description: The Senior Systems Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will configure base AMI's using terraform modules and customize EC2 instance build using user data configuration. Develop and implement Software Release Management strategies for various applications according to the agile process. Implement a continuous delivery pipeline in AWS using GitLab. Utilize automation using scripting languages, Power shell, and Python to automate build and release process. Implement a Microservices container CICD solution within AWS leveraging Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, Ansible, and Kubernetes. Work and create the services, pods, and containers in Kubernetes. Configure Kibana to collect logs from cloud-watch, RDS, Ubuntu, and store in Elastic stack block storage to display in Kibana dashboard. Work with Grafana dashboard for fetching data from database using python. Create slack-bots and deploy using Kubernetes. Install and configure the Gitlab runners in local using the own tagging options for running pipelines. Utilize Jenkins Migration work from On-Prem to AWS JenkinsHub.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years of software development experience. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 2 years of software development experience. Experience must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: (1) Amazon Web Services (AWS); (2) Kubernetes; (3) Docker; (4) Python; (5) Structured Query Language (SQL); (6) Jenkins Continuous Integration; (7) Gitlab; (8) Terraform; (9) Slack for managing bots; (10) Microsoft Azure; (11) Linux; and (12) Ansible. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
