Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description: The Senior Systems Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Franklin, Wisconsin will develop software and systems on test driven development and continuous integration practices. Establish monitoring and automation processes. Investigate, identify and remediate issues with complex systems that host a significant portion of company’s business critical applications. Work extensively with API Management product of Apigee Edge and implementing customer use cases. Implement Security mechanism (OAUTH 2.0) of APIs using Apigee Edge platform. Create design documents for API integration architecture. Secure API proxies using various mechanisms including API Key, OAuth, LDAP, and Content Protection policies in Apigee Edge. Implement OAuth 2.0 (Authorization Code and Client Credentials) integrated with SSO Integration. Monitor production environment health to ensure high availability System. Design and implement complete Production monitoring system for all TIER 1 applications using ELK, Dynatrace, and Splunk which help WAS Admin team address all infrastructure issues upfront providing high-quality service to clients. Plan for infrastructure including hardware, software, servers, storage, memory requirements. Research and evaluate different technologies to identify best tool suitable for the implementations. Perform reporting to measure and reduce security vulnerabilities that are found via security scanning technology.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field plus 5 years of systems engineering experience. 5 years of experience must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: (1) Middleware products; (2) cloud platform applications; (3) Linux, AIX OS admin activities; (4) API management; (5) monitoring and performance management; (6) scripting development; (7) dashboarding and reporting of security scans.
