As a Senior Software Engineer for the Marketing Engineering team, you will be assisting the technical design and solution delivery on multiple field tools that drive our digital marketing platforms, including all of Northwestern Mutual's public websites. You will be working on a team of engineers to build out solutions on a modern, micro-services platform that is deployed to AWS.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support Agile/Lean culture and self-organizing teams that develop solutions

  • Implement the system as defined by requirements

  • Ensure high quality code is achieved through testing and code reviews

  • Develop and grow through training, mentoring, and coaching


  • 5+ years of development experience

  • Experience with Front End technologies (e.g. Modern JavaScript Frameworks, CSS Preprocessors, etc.)

  • Strong Full Stack Development experience (e.g. REST APIs, Application Containerization)

  • Experience working with Cloud technologies

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with Node.js, Golang, Git Source Control, and/or Database Technologies (e.g. Relational, Document-based)

This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
