What's the role?

This is a role that will be focused on application/batch modernization. From a technical perspective the person needs to be a "generalist" in order to act as the guide for an application team on bringing their application into AWS, using CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes. In addition to infrastructure/cloud experience they should have experience with a popular programming language/stack such as Java, C++/C#, JavaScript/NodeJS. Be able to speak well in front of a group of people, guide the team, ability to act as a consultant.

Bring Your Best! What this role needs:

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Containers, Infrastructure as Code, Proficient in at least 1 major programming language (Java, C++/C#, Python, JavaScript)
  • Experience with engineering best practices to include analyzing, designing, developing, and deploying and supporting software solutions and/or infrastructure implementations/upgrades.
  • Shown experience with integration of n-tier applications (i.e. REST, DNS, HTTP, SSL, Encryption, Authentication, Load Balancing)
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to explain technical solutions to technical teams and non-technical teams.
  • Creating patterns of automation for CI/CD, infrastructure deployment, maintenance, monitoring, security and compliance as well as partnering with other enterprise teams, using industry and enterprise standard methodologies.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Proactively learn emerging platforms and related technology
  • Ability to tackle complex technical issues and enable/teach peers to be self sufficient

Must Haves:

  • Experience with AWS. AWS Architect Associate or Professional level certifications
  • Experience with MuleSoft would be ideal
  • Hands on development experience with Java, Spring, C++/C#.
  • Strong knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices
  • Experience with popular monitoring/logging technologies such as ELK, Splunk or Dynatrace
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision, yet actively interact with other team members
  • Bring new ideas and new ways of solving problems to the team
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to work with a limited set of requirements
  • Hands-on experience with scripting (bash, python preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with automation & scheduling technologies (Ansible preferred)
  • 5 years of professional IT experience with at least one OS/hosting platform (i.e. Linux, AWS, Kube, Docker)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 4-8 years
