As a Senior Software Engineer on our team within Annuity Engineering, you will deliver solutions to our product partners. Our annuity product line is supported by numerous applications on multifaceted technologies. The role requires both tactical and critical thinking, a dynamic agile approach, patience and persistence to tackle advanced problems, and strong engineering skills. You will move between diverse tasks and help to bring out the best in those around you with efficiency and high quality.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates technical leadership and teamwork to deliver solutions in a collaborative environment.

  • Establishes, aggregates, and shares team standards and agile strategies within our department.

  • Applies working relationships across teams within our division.

  • Assesses and provides solutions to system-wide architectural problems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • 4-5 years professional experience required

  • 3-5+ years of experience working with modern engineering tools, languages and practices

  • Experience with REST backend, ex. Node (Express), or .NET Core

  • Experience with Java, Spring Framework, XML, JSON, Java Script, React, Angular 2, ES6 and use of Open Source libraries

  • Experience with programming/scripting/query language: Python, Apache Spark, SQL

  • Experience with GitLab Source Control and CICD pipelines

  • Proven critical thinking, ownership mentality and continuous learning

  • Experience developing solutions using agile methods

  • Mentor for the team and department

  • Advanced abilities in one or more technical platforms

  • Capable of presenting between product, engineering, and the business

  • Manages own time to meet objectives

  • Ability to perform peer reviews on code and design

  • Proven understanding of design patterns and architecture
