Job Title: Senior Product Manager
Job Description: The Senior Product Manager at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Franklin, Wisconsin will work with a team of engineers, testers, designers, and business subject matter experts to define product vision and strategy for disbursement and reinstatement capabilities of NM’s risk products. Work with team to deliver experiences to enable clients to achieve financial security. Develop, accept, and communicate roadmap with business stakeholders and organization leaders. Define and track Objective Key Results for measuring success on strategic and delivery outcomes. Prioritize product roadmap and engineering backlog. Define feature scope, coordinate across team dependencies, and evaluate impact of changes. Work cross functionally with other product managers, business analysts, business stakeholders, and engineering leads to build in-depth product and system requirements for future sprints. Translate requirements into technical details to build and validate use cases and user stories around a product and communicate them effectively. Partner with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, business analysts and engineers to define, execute, and deliver features on product roadmap. Articulate the product story to a broader audience. Inform product decisions with both qualitative and quantitative data and investigate existing legacy system processes and business rules. Use mainframe technology PL/I and DB2 for technical analysis. Anticipate potential issues within the product or underlying systems when formulating recommendations. Facilitate PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Business or directly related field, plus 3 years of product management experience working with an Agile team and insurance risk products. The three years of experience must include three years of experience with each of the following: (1) coordinating and collaborating with business stakeholders, product managers and engineering teams on cross-functional initiatives; (2) prioritizing, managing and delivering multiple projects or features simultaneously; (3) translating and communicating product and business requirements into technical requirements; (4) articulating the product story to audiences with differing levels of technical and business sophistication; (5) translating business needs into an actionable plans; (6) extracting data and analyzing existing product behavior to inform business decisions; (7) identifying solution options and recommendations; and (8) facilitating Agile ceremonies and business stakeholder requirement sessions. Three years of experience must also include one year of experience working with mainframe technology PL/I and DB2.
