Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will continue development of our company's most critical dashboards, consult on new requirements, and deliver on new functionality! You will work directly with clients to understand business needs and build out technical components to push us forward in technology and Business Intelligence. The ideal candidate will build a strong business team partnership and be deep in Microsoft Power BI experience.

This resource will access, gather, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into business problems, decisions, and performance. Creating and producing forecasts, reports, dashboards, etc. to tell a story through data are also key parts of the role!

You will also drive our efforts to centralize our KPIs and reports though establishing our new metric cataloguing and BI portal tool.   You will guide business users with organizing their metrics and reporting content, understanding their workflow, setting appropriate security, and reconciling redundant metrics and reports. 


Creates forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. Utilizes analytics and metrics to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts that impact the business (costs, risks, etc.).

Proven ability to gather requirements and information systematically; consider a broad range of issues or factors; grasp complexities and perceive relationships among problems or issues; use accurate logic in analysis.

Summarizes analysis into user-friendly deliverables by translating detailed data into business-appropriate communication and recommendations. Delivers results, insights and recommendations (written, verbal, presentations, etc.) to business audience to support business decisions. Provides consultation to business clients and may participate in cross-functional teams to address business issues.

Creates and is accountable for high quality, value driven work that drives business outcomes; places the user in the center of decision making; and collaborates with team for speed, agility and innovation in work.

Shares best practices with peers through coaching and mentoring around core methodologies, standards and processes. Leverages our data visualization style guide and contributes to its growth.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or related field.5+ years of progressively responsible experience in research and data analysis, application of statistical research techniques, or application development that support business decisions/outcomes.

  • Strongly prefer submissions with portfolio or work sample link attached.

  • Expertise in development and analytical tools such as R, SQL, MS Excel, SPSS, R or another tool. Visualization tooling; required PowerBI experience.

  • Solid understanding of data visualization best practices.  Knowledge of UI/UX preferred. 

  • Ability to partner & guide data engineers on data structure requirements; knowledge of dimensional and other modeling best practices preferred. 

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and recommendations in written, verbal and presentation form at an appropriate level for a variety of business audiences.

  • Proven excellence in problem solving, research, quantitative analysis and analytical working techniques.

  • Solid aptitude and desire for learning new platforms, development, analytic and presentation tools; modeling, analytic and quantitative techniques.

  • Initiative to independently design and develop own deliverables while still being a team player.

  • Ability and desire to mentor other team members through projects independently from start to finish.


This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
