The Field Learning and Development team, part of the Field Talent Department within CD, develops and executes learning experiences that solve needs, change behaviors, and drive learning and adoption to drive growth and productivity throughout the distribution system. We partner with business stakeholders and our sales force to develop and deliver these experiences with a learner-centric approach. Field Learning & Development is at the heart of driving our field experience for our financial reps. By being a part of this innovative, creative and collaborative team, you will help educate and empower all levels of our field force to deliver financial security to their clients.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Learning Operations, Design & Development, you will serve as a learning leader responsible for the development and implementation of training aligned to field-focused initiatives. As primary lead for identifying and prioritizing training needs that build advisor capabilities and behaviors, this role will provide guidance and leadership to coordinate, integrate and collaborate with the field and home office stakeholders to deliver tools and resources in support of learning and business objectives. This learning lead will take on learning projects, as assigned, that support business units across the enterprise, with a focus on advisor training. The learning lead will build a matrixed team, if/as needed, to support assigned training initiatives.
-Provide leadership in the development and implementation of field-focused initiative training.
-Produce impactful, timely, and compliant field-facing learning resources that support the objectives of the assigned initiative.
-Build and provide easily accessible, just-in-time reference material supplemented with recurring and timely updates, as needed.
-Manage the consistency of training content including instructor-led training, eLearning, job aids, workshops, reference materials, etc.
-Identify and prioritize sales training needs that build advisor capabilities for assigned initiatives.
-Provide guidance and leadership to coordinate and collaborate with Field Learning and Development, National Training, planning, product lines and other areas to deliver tools and resources that support advisor development.
-Identify what sales, product, or other training is needed in the field and develop programs to accommodate those needs.
-Develop content and materials for field training programs as needed, in partnership with Field Learning and Development, and other business partners. Coordinate content and provide oversight to ensure consistent messaging.
-Develop a framework which integrates newly developed training to ensure content alignment in all field training programs.
-Collaborate with Field Learning and Development to guide and influence developing and maintaining integrated training materials and approaches.
-Engage appropriate stakeholders and experts to maximize the outcome of training efforts. Negotiate and incorporate divergent business needs and priorities of those stakeholders and experts.
-Seek out product line or other subject matter experts to assist with curriculum development.
-Consult with Field Learning and Development, National Training, product, advisors and others, as needed, on training content, design and delivery. Work effectively with all levels within the department and across departments.
Bring your best! What this role needs:
Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, business or related field.
Minimum of 7 years related work experience in financial services.
Ability to think strategically and to implement training plans that support the department’s and company’s strategic direction.
Proven experience in leading projects to meet deadlines and quality expectations including ability to scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects.
Ability to independently lead complex learning projects and be a key resource and contributor on cross-departmental projects.
Ability to build relationships, influence without authority, and gain confidence and credibility with business clients across the company.
Creative as well as strong analytical skills with proven ability to problem solve in non-standard situations.
Excellent ability to effectively present information in a variety of settings (one-on-one, small and large group, peers and leadership).
This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
