Learning Experience Operations Senior Specialist

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Leadership Development, as Learning Experience Operations Senior Specialist, you will play a critical role on the Talent and Leadership Development Team by supporting multiple programs and initiatives for audiences ranging from new leader to executive leadership. You will help to ensure that Northwestern Mutual field leaders possess the skills and exhibit the behaviors to enable the growth of talent and sales revenue.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Support the execution for talent and leadership development programs by preparing and providing information and access needed to enhance the overall learning experience for program participants. 
  • Coordination of network office talent and leadership development activities by tracking documents and program participation
  • Maintaining talent and leadership development metrics and dashboards
  • Creating and centralizing team SharePoint sites, including scheduling, reporting, collecting and analyzing information and program communications 
  • Support the evolution of virtual delivery by identifying opportunities for enhancements, build out of best practices and evaluation of tools. 
  • Analyze process workflow, make recommendations, and implement necessary changes. 
  • Support and inform operational systems for scalability and expansion of the program. 
  • Coordination of multiple learning experiences for leaders across multiple network offices. 
  • Responsible for communication with multiple home office and field stakeholders, as well as individual program participants. 
  • Centralization of program surveys, databases, and results.
  • Creation of project management office for the entire team.


  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of professional related work experience. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of program/project management or equivalent experience. 
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently by evaluating situations and issues to make good sound judgment and decisions that benefit the team and program. 
  • Identify efficiencies in processes and procedures effectively with team members to evaluate and implement recommendations. 
  • Must be able to handle ambiguity, adapt to changing business needs and anticipate and plan for consequences that could have an impact on any aspect of the program. 
  • Strong consulting and communication skills. 
  • High degree of detail orientation, organization, and planning skills. 
  • Expertise with Microsoft Suite of tools, especially in Excel, One Note, and SharePoint, and virtual delivery tools such as Zoom.
