Lead Systems Engineer-Broadcast Engineer

We are looking for a leader in the broadcast and networking space that will elevate our existing systems and growing capabilities to the next level with the launch of our new Production Control Center! This lead engineer will support broadcasts/events, supervise and maintain broadcast infrastructure across all campuses, develop workflows for current and new user cases, build and document Standard Operating Procedures, and partner with Digital Productions and key stakeholders to ensure the technology meets the needs of the users.

Systems for which this role is entrusted to lead and maintain includes but not limited to:

  • Evertz routing, distribution, and supervise wall systems

  • Ross XPression graphics systems

  • Epiphan video encoders

  • Yamaha and Calrec Audio boards

  • Video switchers including Ross and Barco

  • Clear-Com Intercom Systems or similar

  • Robotic camera systems

  • MediaPlatform, Zoom Events, SpotMe, and similar event distribution platforms

  • Event space AV technologies


Cumulative of prior level plus following:

  • Provide thought leadership, influence peers in and outside of domain, vendor relationships, and organization vertical.

  • Architect solutions that take into account, availability, security, compliance, privacy and legal requirements.

  • Thoughtfully and practically introduce concepts and technologies from the industry to tackle meaningful problems.

  • Bring together the work of many teams and individuals into a cohesive, achievable plan that aligns with goals and deadlines.

  • Build solutions that are consistently successful across multiple dimensions, including performance, scalability, adaptability and maintainability.

  • Coach and mentor less experienced engineers, along with assigning and suggest stretch assignments.


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • 6-8 years professional broadcast studio and/or production engineering experience and IT experience

  • 6-8 years of proven experience in a sophisticated network television and/or corporate production environment.

  • 6-8 years preventative maintenance on all equipment including production switchers, audio boards, monitor walls, Intercom panels, and Broadcast PC’s.

  • 6-8 years experience with monitoring, performance management of systems and networking knowledge

  • Risk assessment of existing facilities and validation of new hardware/software releases.

  • Experience with CICD concepts, and tools, branching strategies and demonstrating knowledge to assist in delivering an infrastructure as a product.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills within area of expertise.

  • Knowledge and experience with multiple broadcast distribution platforms.

  • Experience crafting, delivering and supporting highly available architectures.

  • Experience maintaining system configuration history of changes, troubleshooting and participation in repairing systems problems and failures.

  • Evaluating new user cases for use of space and recommending standard methodologies.

  • Experience with a variety of delivery methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
