Lead Recruiter - Corporate Functions

Our recruiting team is tasked with recruiting for all hires in the home office, at all levels. We work as advisors about the internal and external talent labor markets to the business and HR teams. The Lead Recruiter reports to the Sr Director TA and is responsible the full life cycle of recruiting for all requisitions in corporate functions business areas. The most successful lead recruiters prioritize the requisition loads for themselves and the recruiters/sourcers they work with, and build pipelines of high-quality candidates for critical roles. They also work closely with the TA team management, hiring managers, and HR business partners to develop and execute tactical sourcing strategies in order to generate a diverse candidate pool. They also support our talent attraction programs and support university, military and diversity recruiting events as needed.

This is a leadership role in our team, accountable for recruiting delivery for the corporate functions business areas by providing daily leadership, training, and development of recruiters/sourcers supporting the business.

Long-term expectations

  • Identify priority / critical roles for your customer group, build a sourcing strategy for each functional area, gain support from internal partners, and execute the plan.

  • Establish yourself as a brand ambassador for Northwestern Mutual, and influence other brand ambassadors within your aligned customer group.

Required Qualifications

University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Eight years demonstrable experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience leading expectations of high-level partners, in HR and business leadership roles. Leadership experience - setting work priorities and mentor staff. Competence in developing digital candidate sourcing strategies. Knowledge of recruiting & staffing laws, including OFCCP. Technology aptitude: experience with Workday (ATS), Beamery (CRM), LinkedIn Recruiter, and other direct sourcing tools. Foundational understanding of the Boolean search language, and how those search principles apply to both internet and database searches.
