Lead Program Manager - Planning Experience

What’s this role?

An opportunity to provide the highest level of program/portfolio management expertise and consultation in order to meet cross-department and enterprise wide goals. Plans, monitors and handles internal business programs from initiation through rollout and ongoing program management. Accountable for aligning one or more large, complex business programs consisting of multiple efforts and/or programs supporting strategic corporate initiatives. Includes running multiple and varied projects which incorporate larger initiatives and are ongoing as a Program Manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Independently leads large, complex, and multi-layered programs or portfolios.

  • Leads the management of scope, risk, business value, schedule and budget for key aspects of the Retirement Planning vision to positively impact the lives of our clients.

  • Defines, maintains, and revises program objectives and deliverables; accountable for defining the program structure and crafting a single, unified plan to deliver on objectives.

  • Runs programs to ensure appropriate allocation of resources according to program objectives, specifications and changes.

  • Shepherds the building and motivating of team members, influencing positive action and accountability for assigned work.

  • Drives for clarity on program objectives, priorities, and measures.

  • Develops recommendations and solutions to unique and complex problems and ensures program results are consistent with organizational objectives.

  • Identifies, assess, and mitigates program risks to remove impediments.

  • Develops supportive relationships with business clients to handle program delivery expectations and implementation.

  • Monitors the resources and vendors assigned to program by verifying progress and removing obstacles.

  • Makes connections across teams and workstreams to drive identification and facilitation of inter-dependencies.

  • Gathers and delivers the metrics needed for the program.

  • Maximizes data to make successes and challenges visible, and to drive insights and action plans for continually adjusting and pursuing program goals.

  • Applies tools and techniques to enable end-to-end value delivery and the best ongoing rollout and experiences.

  • Leans into ambiguity to create a way forward with the program(s).

  • Applies discernment with breadth of industry knowledge and product complexities to company initiatives, in order to incorporate program objectives.

  • Uses extensive knowledge of program management and business requirements to understand the key business drivers as they relate to the programs.

  • Conducts complex analysis to identify scope and nature of program deliverables; programs are intended to solve a department or business need.

Bring Your Best! What this role needs:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Minimum 7 years of related experience; diverse project or program management experience to include analysis, design, documentation, project/support management.

  • Experience working in agile methodologies and tooling.

  • Experience connecting work with broader corporate strategies.

  • Ability to work with general direction to scope, plan and coordinate cross-department or multi-department programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and run large and highly complex assignments including those with enterprise-wide impact.

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple tasks simultaneously, within tight deadlines.

  • Written and oral communications skills with a focus on establishing rapport within the company, field and /or outside vendors.

  • Be seen as a phenomenal teammate who is supportive of group decisions and ideas.



This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
