Job Description

Here at Northwestern Mutual we are looking to bring on a talented Instructional Designer that will be serving as a key information risk advisor to help craft and develop learning and practicing experiences within our Information Risk and Cybersecurity department!

The goal is to facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and proficiencies in an effective and engaging way

You will work in the division that support individual’s’ who are accountable for information risk outcomes; develop and manage relationships with business leaders ; manage overall results of multiple projects within the information risk program (including accountability for defining and managing scope, schedule, cost, and quality); communicate project status to partners; ensure compliance with Company-approved risk management methodology

Responsibilities

  • Creation of learning materials to assist with educating, mentor, and guiding leaders across the company on information risk and security education to help other understands both the business and technical implications of information risk and cybersecurity.
  • Build engaging learning activities and compelling course content that improves retention and transfer
  • Work with subject matter authorities and identify target audience’s training needs
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
  • Provide exercises and activities that improve the learning process
  • Build supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.

Requirements and skills

  • Shown working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
  • Experience using Articulate Suite (Storyline and Rise authoring tool) and experience with Camtasia and Vyond.
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Audio-editing would be a plus
  • Premier Pro or Rush video capabilities Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and Audition
  • Ability to immerse quickly and get up-to-speed quickly in highly complex, technical work while building positive relationships
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skill
  • Proven ability to independently identify and resolve critical and complex issues through effective problem-solving skills.
  • Includes ability to take care of ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to maintain and strengthen relationships; ability to effectively influence and negotiate with internal and external partners; and proven organizational savvy with demonstrated tact and diplomacy.
  • Proven business and technical communication skills; ability to communicate in both business and technical terminology based on the situation and the audience.
