Summary:

Accountable to understand, tailor and complete solutions that meet the complex needs of sophisticated practices, advisors, and/or firms. Responsible for assessing the needs of the firm and bringing together the right people to determine how FPS can meet those needs. Accountable for the execution of the services for the practice, which may involve leading Financial Planning Associates. Serves as the on-going FPS relationship manager with the practices.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assess investment and planning support needs of sophisticated practices (ensembles, PCG/Forum level teams) to determine how FPS may be able to benefit them.
  • Lead the review of the sophisticated practices’ current planning and/or investment outputs to agree on expectations on FPS deliverables.
  • Partner with the appropriate areas within SBS/FPS and cross-functionally as required to determine how FPS will operationally meet the needs of the practice. Provide leadership to the creation, documentation and on-going updating of the operating procedures to support the practice.
  • Participate in on-boarding to address technical issues related to planning and investments, create confidence and build the relationship.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Financial Planning Associates to produce quality output in alignment with practice's expectations. This will involve coaching and mentoring of team members as well as doing some of the more complex work themselves.
  • Be accountable for the work produced by the team and the relationship with the practice; serve as the point of contact regarding questions or concerns with the work and lead the resolution of any issues.
  • Serve as the on-going FPS relationship manager with the practice, which will include conducting regular check ins on the experience and output the practice is receiving with FPS, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Provide dedicated consulting to sophisticated full support subscribers.

Bring your best! What the role requires:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field.
  • FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) and Series 7 required, Series 24 to be obtained within 12 months.
  • Minimum of 8 years of financial services experience including planning as well as both brokerage and advisory investment platforms, products and services.
  • People leadership skills; oversight and direction of the team day to day operations and the ability to coach, influence and mentor team members to achieving organizational goals.
  • Deep understanding of service offerings and operational processes within Financial Planning Services.
  • Experience consulting to sophisticated advisors/practices (large ensembles, Fee-Based Planners, PCG and Forum advisors/firms) with the ability to assess and understand how services and solutions may increase efficiencies and allow them to better serve clients.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring others.
  • Ability to establish and manage repeatable operational processes as well as to identify and implement operational improvements.
  • High degree of self-motivation with leadership and initiative in sharing information, contributing towards group goals and accepting responsibility for results.
