Data Brand Communications Lead

Join our team to take the lead on telling the story about Northwestern Mutual's growth in data science! The Data Brand Communications Lead will own the execution of projects related to communicating and elevating the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute (NMDSI) and attracting top data science and analytics talent to Northwestern Mutual. You will provide communications and project management expertise to our partners and future employees. Other responsibilities include integrating work with your peers and partner teams across the organization, running team operations to help us make the greatest impact, and collaborating with our university partners to elevate the visibility of the NMDSI. This resource will assign, lead and track complex resources, regroup priorities and objectives as needed to achieve key landmarks and accomplish efficient project results.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be accountable for leading all NMDSI communication work, including building and scaling the Core Data & Analytics (CDA) and NMDSI Content Strategies. You will design and build the CDA Thought Leadership Program to showcase NM data science thought leaders, including the monitoring of day-to-day progress, execution, management and outcomes of related projects within the approved scope, schedule and cost. You will drive to achieve outcomes using appropriate tools and techniques that are aligned with company methodologies & tools to help with the completion of short and long-term goals.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Will also consider degree in Communications or Marketing with data/IT experience.

  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of project management experience in technology and/or business functions

  • Experience with project management methodologies or SDLC (systems development life cycle)

  • Working knowledge of project management / agile tooling
