What's the Role?

As a Content Strategist, you are embedded within the Product Design team and will use your strategy knowledge and gift for language to craft intuitive, outstanding product experiences – helping users accomplish their goals while keeping focus on business objectives.

Our Product Design team is leading a major digital transformation, and our Content Strategists are critical in delivering on our organization’s total success by implementing content strategy methodologies and UX writing standards guidelines to formulate a consistent and unified voice across products.

What you'll be doing:

  • Write clear, consistent, concise user-interface copy for customer, field and home office experiences.

  • Assist with formulating and implementing content strategy methodologies to help plan for the creation, delivery and governance of useful, usable content.

  • Work closely with the content team to shape, develop, and maintain our content style guide.

  • Collaborate with research, UX and visual designers, engineers, product managers, and many others to deliver compelling UX solutions.

  • Use logic, hard data, and emotional intelligence to guide content choices and advocate for solutions that balance the needs of customers with business objectives.

  • Contribute to the development of content processes to support a cohesive content ecosystem.

  • Succinctly present and rationalize work to partners. Use data and research to evaluate content’s impact.

A qualified Content Strategist would have the following experience & skills:

  • Strong writing skills and command of the English language (grammar, spelling and vocabulary).

  • Understand the basic fundamentals of UX writing, content design or crafting messaging in the digital world.

  • Ability to adhere to brand voice, tone and style requirements.

  • Familiar or exposed to content strategy approaches - such as content auditing, defining taxonomies for tagging, governing content, etc. to help define product vision and narratives across multiple platforms and touch points.

  • Familiar with approaches driven by data that take into consideration business metrics, site assessment, competitive analysis, and research.

  • Ability to balance multiple projects; adaptable to constantly evolving priorities.

  • Ability to collaborate, seek transparency and work independently to execute on tasks.

  • Willingness to help teammates and learn from them.

  • Willingness to receive feedback/constructive critiques.

  • Can explain difficult or sensitive information in a knowledgeable way; works to build consensus

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Personable individual who enjoys working in a team environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, UX, HCI, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 1-3 years of previous experience in UX writing and/or content strategy work in a professional setting. Experience working in product design, marketing or tech organizations, agencies, freelance.

  • Experience on user-focused product writing including work in hardware, software, digital agency, or other relevant product area.

  • Experience in crafting content for multi-disciplinary projects.

  • A portfolio of content strategy assets, UX-focused writing samples, and style guidelines.


This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
