Compensation, Senior Specialist / Analyst

Role / Responsibilities:

Program Administration

  • Under direction of other compensation resources, conducts job evaluations for non-exempt and exempt positions

  • Matches NM jobs to the external labor market to ensure we have solid benchmarks

  • In partnership with Compensation Consultant, participates in salary surveys, analyzes the results, communicates, explains outcomes and identifies new data sources to consider.

  • Primary liaison for market pricing system vendor.

  • Prices jobs, analyzes alternatives, and recommends solutions that balance the needs of the client and the policies of the organization

  • Manages less complex compensation programs as program owner

  • Monitors job profiles, including vacant job profiles, missing fields, missing job descriptions and partners with members of compensation team to address.

Planning and Administration

  • Administers compensation-related Workday tasks

  • Administers and coordinates compensation unit planning and deliverables

  • Manages and coordinates of annual compensation program timeline(s)

  • Coordinate compensation unit communications and training

  • Manages compensation DC pages partnering with communications and compensation team ensuring up-to-date content

Additional responsibilities:

  • Conducts research and communicates results to appropriate parties.

  • Actively participates on the HR client team as needed. Partners with other client team members to ensure work efforts across divisions are coordinated and lines of communication remain open.

  • In partnership with more experienced compensation staff, works with Departments regarding reorganization of work groups and individual job design in order to enhance job architecture and other compensation-related outcomes.

Our Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field with course work in statistics or equivalent.

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in compensation, HR, accounting, finance or a related field.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make decisions when dealing with complex information and concepts.

  • Demonstrated experience with HRIS compensation-related functions/operations, Workday preferred

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to independently set priorities, manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work with general direction to scope, plan and manage cross-department or multi-department projects

  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge in processes and project management to include analysis and documentation

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage low- to mid-complexity assignments

  • Extensive experience and proficiency using Excel is required

  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal skills; ability to impart technical concepts, gain rapport and persuade when dealing with all levels of employees

  • Demonstrated strong written/oral communication skills in a business or technical environment

  • High degree of personal initiative and motivation

  • Ability to interpret the union contract and federal legislation related to compensation matters, preferred



This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
