The Post Approval Digital Product team is looking for a Business Analyst to join our team, with a focus on delivery of changes within our Risk Product Administration track. More specifically, this role will have accountabilities for a variety of efforts primarily involving systems used by the New Business Department to process Life and Disability Income products from time of application through contract approval and delivery.
You would perform business analysis of the current systems and processes, provide detailed business requirements for the change, coordinate and communicate between business stakeholder and engineering teams, determine test scenarios, and complete detailed testing checkout and signoff for the changes. You would partner with multiple engineering teams within the New Business domain, both onshore and offshore, and align with other Digital Product Managers/Business Analysts for coordination of the changes. Developing relationship with numerous stakeholders and delivery partners is key, along with strong organization and communication skills.
This role also involves being a member of a team that is accountable for ensuring timely and accurate delivery of Compliance, Audit, and Regulatory related requests that involve the Life, Universal Life, Disability Income, Long Term Care, and Annuity product lines. This role provides an opportunity to partner with multiple business areas, Digital Product teams, and Engineering teams to achieve objectives.
Dig deep into a specific business area and help define the details of how to drive business results through technology. Work on a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, designers and subject matter experts in an agile methodology to deliver on outcomes.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Business Expertise: Partner with peer group, business partners and product management to learn business area/domain, while continuing to learn and grow knowledge across the enterprise.
Current State, Future State and Gap Analysis: Document and assess current state in a few processes, or single business area / domain. Assist with task-based work items in more complex situations.
Gather Requirements: Responsible for fact-based requirement gathering, including all system, technical and intake requests.
Author User Stories and/or Features: Author user stories and/or features independently with low to medium complexity while participating in some task-based work in higher complexity situations. Assist throughout the development process as needs arise.
Test Plan Review: Assist with coordinating and reviewing test plans for smaller or non-complex efforts. Independently provide execution on testing as needed (UAT, checkouts, etc.)
Project Management : Use project management principles to successfully complete and advance work.
1-3 Years Prior Experience in industry or business
3+ years working in a business analysis role collaborating with various tech teams and lines of businesses
Ability to lean on strong communication skills to influence outcomes while approaching conflict with organizational savviness.
Domain expertise via previous internships or similar roles in the past.
Certifications demonstrating proficiency in role specific proficiencies.
Deep familiarity of agile & scrum development environments.
Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents.
This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
