What's The Roll:

In this role you will deliver on one of the company’s top priorities, which is to enable Northwestern Mutual’s multiyear strategy by understanding talent needs and translating them into future-proof talent strategies. You will leverage your keen understanding of data and systems to help influence business planning and talent practices, ultimately helping your partners understand their talent needs for now, near, and far, and ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time with the right skills to achieve business goals.

You will report to the Sr. Director, Data Science & Analytics with a dotted line / dual reporting relationship to our Vice President, Strategic Workforce Planning, who you will primarily support as a key customer and embedded team member as the key team orchestrating this effort across the enterprise.

How You'll Do It:

Data & People Analytics:

  • Build predictive data models into data warehouse that align to strategic workforce planning for enterprise and influence internal stakeholders based on the insights.
  • Strategic Workforce Planning:
  • Leverage internal and external data, trends, analytics, and insights to assess talent supply and demand, talent gaps, and model future scenarios to accurately identify and prioritize talent risks and opportunities.
  • Provide internal consulting to Strategic Workforce Planning team based on data insights.

Operational Workforce Planning:

  • Facilitate headcount demand planning by understanding headcount supply and forecasting demand based on business, financial, market factors.
  • Support resource planning activities to understand labor supply and demand for specific initiatives and operational needs and advise project and talent plans.
  • Build and manage operational workforce planning tools and processes to drive improved efficiency and effectiveness for HR Embedded.
  • Change Management:
  • Support workforce planning capability building, leveraging processes, tools, and data to drive change and providing support where needed.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7+ years of experience with 3+ years in a workforce planning or data & analytics role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with forecasting and data analysis in a strategic context.
