The Assistant Director-Estate and Business Markets takes a leadership role in the efforts to increase sales of life insurance in the estate market. Provides technical expertise and guidance on plan and product selection and design for Financial Representatives. Serves as coordinator of NM illustration systems for the estate market (Network Illustration System and Executive Benefits software system). In this role, you will provide sales support through consultation with Financial Representatives, their clients and/or third party advisors in order to maintain and improve NM's position in the estate market; promote NM estate market life products, assisting Financial Representatives in designing the best product for a case; serve as liaison to New Business, Underwriting Standards, POS and Actuarial departments on large/complex estate market cases; play a key role in development and implementation of new Northwestern Mutual estate market products and modification of existing estate market products.
1.Provide sales support to the Field through case consultation with FRs, their clients or third party advisors representing current or prospective NM Clients in order to maintain and improve NM's position in the estate market. Will need to draw on extensive experience to achieve.
2.Help to promote Northwestern Mutual's estate market life products and assist FRs in selecting and designing the best product for a case.
3.Manage, maintain and improve estate market functionality in Network Illustration System and Executive Benefits software system, including working with IS to implement.
4.Serve as liaison between estate market functionality in Network Illustration System and the Estate Module of PNA/PPA.
5.Serve as liaison to New Business, Underwriting Standards, POS and Actuarial departments on large/complex estate market cases.
6.Organize and sponsor the Estate Market Seminar each year.
7.Serve as subject matter expert for other areas of the home office, including serving on project teams, and present at a variety of Home Office and Network Office presentations.
8.Play a key role in the development and implementation of new Northwestern Mutual estate market products and modification of existing estate market products.
9.Identifies gaps and helps to produce estate market marketing and sales materials.
10.Track and administer the modified 1035 exchange from CompLife to Universal Life program.
11.Assist Sales Support team in FPPD with conservation efforts, as needed.
12.Manage the annual budget for the Specialty Markets Division.
13.Serve as back-up for COLI/BOLI cases within specialty markets.
Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, actuarial, finance or IS.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in insurance sales, insurance products, estate planning or life insurance company home office support area.
Series 6 required (within 6 months of hire).
Very strong analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High degree of motivation and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and the ability to lead a team/project.
Ability to communicate and develop relationships with Financial Representatives and others in the Home Office both on the phone and in person.
Has an excellent understanding of the Company's life products and their applicability to estate planning.
CLU, FLMI, ChFC, and CFP are highly desirable
This position has been classified as a Registered Representative under NMIS guidelines and requires fingerprinting.
Required Certifications:Series 6 - FINRA, SIE - FINRA
