Assistant Director - Diversity and Inclusion Learning Lead

This Assistant Director – Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Learning Lead, will function as the learning lead responsible for the development and implementation of training aligned to field-focused D&I programs and initiatives. This role will provide guidance and leadership to coordinate, integrate and collaborate with the Field Diversity & Inclusion team, field leadership, and home office stakeholders, to deliver tools and resources in support of D&I learning objectives. The learning lead will build a matrixed team, as needed, to support work efforts.  Reports to the Senior Director, Field Leadership Development and Talent Management. 


1) Provide thought leadership in the development and implementation of a field-focused D&I training strategy.
a. Develop a D&I training strategy aligned to and supporting the Field D&I strategy
b. Develop and implement processes to measure training strategy and programs against learning and business outcomes
c. Manage the consistency of all training content including instructor-led-training, eLearning, job aids, workshops, reference manuals etc., across all D&I learning programs and initiatives.
 

2) Identify and prioritize D&I training needs, in partnership with Field D&I team leadership, that build advisor and field leader behaviors and capabilities.
a. Provide guidance and leadership to coordinate and collaborate with Field D&I, Field Learning and Development, National Training Program, performance team and other areas to deliver tools and resources that support advisor development.
b. Identify what D&I development is needed in the field and develop learning content/programs to accommodate those needs.
c. Develop content and materials for field D&I training programs as needed, in partnership with Field D&I, Field Learning and Development, and other business partners.  Coordinate content and provide oversight to ensure consistent messaging and alignment to D&I strategic outcomes and priorities
 

3) Develop a framework that integrates newly developed D&I training to ensure alignment with D&I learning strategy and Field Learning and Development best practices
a. Collaborate with Field D&I and Field Learning and Development to guide and influence developing and maintaining integrated training materials and approaches.
b. Engage appropriate stakeholders and experts to maximize the outcome of training efforts. Negotiate and incorporate divergent business needs and priorities of those stakeholders and experts.
c. Seek out subject matter experts, internally and externally, to assist with development, as needed.


Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, business or related field.

Minimum of 7 years related work experience in financial services

Experience leading and supporting D&I programs required, with demonstrated record of success

Ability to think strategically and to implement training plans that support the department's and company's strategic direction.

Proven experience in leading projects to meet deadlines and quality expectations including ability to scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects.

Ability to independently lead complex learning projects and be a key resource and contributor on cross-departmental projects.

Ability to build relationships, influence without authority, and gain confidence and credibility with business clients across the company.

Creative as well as strong analytical and intuitive skills with proven ability to problem solve in non-standard situations.

Consultation skills.

Presentation and/or facilitator led training experience.

Excellent ability to effectively present information in a variety of formal settings (one-on-one, small and large group, peers, subordinates and organization leadership).

This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
