Job Title: Assistant Director, Design

Job Description: The Assistant Director, Design at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will lead a team that will use Sketch, Figma, InVision, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, and Axure to create digital designs, including interaction designs, information architecture, and visual designs. Lead user research and analysis activities, including through use of User Testing and Google Analytics. Mentor, coach, and facilitate the development of teammates to advance their work. Ensure team's work fits into greater context of organizational goals. Work with research team to create actionable insight development plans, facilitate the development of initiatives, and collaborate with design system team to develop contributions to the design system. Facilitate design workshops and collaborate with partner-stakeholders to ensure focus on design quality and stakeholder needs. Drive usability, accessibility, and responsiveness through design execution. Act as an ambassador for user-centeredness and strategic value of design across the enterprise.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a directly related field plus 6 years of experience designing data intensive products and services in a product design role. 6 years of experience must include 4 years with each of the following: (1) using Sketch, Figma, InVision, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, and Axure; (2) creating digital designs, including interaction designs, information architecture, and visual designs; and (3) working in one or more of the following industries: finance, banking, insurance, and/or healthcare. 6 years of experience must also include 2 years of conducting user research and analysis using User Testing, Google Analytics, and Heap.
